Are we the country that shoots undertrials?

So I'll make it very clear at the beginning. I'm touching a very sensitive subject. I presume I'm raising a lot of valid questions! I will leave the answering part to you.

This group of 8 young men were held up and put in prisons. Some for more than 3 years. A few caught recently. The prisoners were facing trial for terror incidents, sedition and robbery. The prisoners 'WERE FACING' trials. And by that it means, the court has not convicted them guilty of any crime yet. So we will use the word 'suspected terrorists' from now on!

These 'suspected terrorists', all supposedly did a jail break! Killed a police officer! And ran away for 15 Kms and were staying in a village. Police apparently catches these 'suspected terrorists' and shoots them. These 'suspected terrorists', were not carrying any arms, according to the statement of IG Bhopal and home minister themselves and were fighting with 'plates and spoons'.

So, where do we start? Are we going to be that country who will catch people on suspicion, give them a chance to run and shoot them?

I don't deny that them trying to run away from jails is wrong! So is keeping them in prison for 3 years without conviction!

I don't deny that killing that police officer is wrong! So is shooting them! Those who were fighting with plates and spoons.

So they are terrorists! What if they are not? So they escaped! What if they din't? Were helped? Yes, they fought back! Are the police not taught to catch unarmed people without shooting them?

And finally, are we going to be the country that will celebrate a human being's death?
